Our 4:30 PM Pre-CanSkate program is the absolute starting point for any child looking to learn how to skate. Conveniently serving families from the Ripley, Lucknow, Wingham, Kincardine, and surrounding communities, this introductory ice readiness class is open to all beginners—from young preschoolers getting on the ice for the first time to older children catching up on foundational skills.
Based on Skate Canada’s flagship learn-to-skate framework, the entire focus of this session is on fun, high participation, and fundamental balance. Our professional coaches provide a supportive, low-pressure environment where children can master the absolute basics at their own comfortable pace. The primary goal is helping every skater learn to stand on their own and move around the ice independently. Once they get the hang of those core skills, they seamlessly transition up into the main CanSkate program with the confidence to keep up.
